Passing the time
The coastal lagoons on Tassie's east coast are so under fished and underrated. So much so that it is rare to see anyone else fishing there at all. Grants Lagoon at Binalong Bay is one of the deeper Lagoons and holds a surprising number of different species including Trevally, Bream, Salmon, Snapper, Tailor, Flathead, Mullet just to name a few. You can launch a boat at Grant's but shore bashing can be just as effective on the deeper shores. Recently I passed some time in between days heavy tackle fishing Offshore, to throw some soft plastics at some of these awesome light tackle species. The old faithful Squidgies Wriggler 100mm Wasabi proving irresistible to just about everything in there including a big Chub Mullet which are normally hard to catch on a lure and when hooked go like a cut cat!!! So if it's too windy Offshore, give the Lagoons a go, you might be surprised!
