Mount St. Helens Rainbows

The Rainbows weren't massive, but the scenery was. Even on a slow day this is still a very rewarding lake with so much beauty. We were Trolling and casting flies to beautiful trout today in such an amazing place. They were aggressively taking woolybuggers trolled and black ant patterns while sight fishing in shallow water. This lake is one of the most scenic and breathtaking places I have ever fished. As you fish your way thourgh the lake you can see the incredible power that caused such destruction when MSH erupted. Since then vegetation has began to grow back and you are not allowed to get out of your boat and fish from the shore. which prevents erosion. We seen many elk and deer and even some smoke coming from the mountain.
