Shimano Rarenium Ci4+ FB Spinning Reel

The use of CI4+ (Carbon interfused with polyamide) in the rotor and body of the new generation Rarenium CI4+FB spin reel series cuts down on weight without compromising strength in any way, delivering better performance and greater comfort during long casting sessions. A reel series of this stature has, naturally enough, X-Ship (a double bearing supported pinion gear and a larger cold-forged drive gear), as well as Floating Shaft II for reduced friction where the spool drive shaft meets the pinion. Six shielded SA-RB bearings and one roller bearing ensure every turn of the machined aluminium handle is as effortless as it can be. CF (Cold Forged) gears deliver a great all-round retrieve speed of 5:1 across the range. Line capacities are generous given the size of the reels, even moreso when spooled with fine diameter Power Pro braid. The presence of Aero Wrap II (a worm gear oscillation system) provides uniform line lay so there's no loss of energy during a cast due to hills and troughs forming in the braid. The Rapid Fire Drags are all totally waterproof, and stopping power ranges from three kilos in the 1000FB, nine kilos in the 2500 and 3000, and up to a whopping 11 kilos in the 4000FB.
