When I was about 5 years old my family went to a friends cottage. My dad and I were fishing off the shore and he went to grab another bait. It was while he was looking the other way that I first picked up a rod. My dad and I have been fishing as a team ever since. When I was about 5 years old my family went to a friends cottage. My dad and I were fishing off the shore and he went to grab another bait. It was while he was looking the other way that I first picked up a rod. My dad and I have been fishing as a team ever since. Whether it was to just go fun fishing or pre fishing for a tournament we have spent countless number of hours on the water doing what we love the most. About 10 years ago my dad asked if I would like to do a tournament with him...and I'm so glad that I said yes. There is no better feeling then when you are sitting waiting for blast off...butterflies...still trying to decide where to start...then they start to get close to your number....you manuver your way through dozens of boats to get to the front...and then it happens...they call your number and your off. My favorite type of fishing is bass fishing in mid July to the end of August on sunny days. I love top water fishing and I am known to many as the popper queen, as it is quite possibly my favorite bait. I have had so many amazing experiences while on the water. I'd have to say my favorite day was on Rice several years ago when my dad and I placed in the top 5. We decided to start close with some dock fish we had found. I was casting to the outside and he was pitching to docks and after about 5 minutes I set hook into a 4 pound large mouth . After getting it into the boat I cast again...my next cast was a 3 pound large mouth...this continued for about 45 minutes and by the time 8:30am came I was culling 3.5 pound fish. We decided to go look for the big one. We went to a weed bed that we had pre fished and got some good fish at. My dad's second cast he yelled "GET THE NET", it was another 4 pound large mouth. About 5 minutes later...it was my turn "GET THE NET". Even though we didn't win the tournament it is one of my favorite memories. It doesn't matter if we have a good day or a bad day, we are always laughing and loving what we are doing. I have been with Shimano for years and absolutely love the products and the service. It is an amazing team to belong to. I have been fortunate enough to fish with the best equipment made!!!
