In 2011 Jay was approached at one of the Bass Seminar Talks that he was presenting at by the owner of Simax Fishing Rods. Jay was pleasantly surprised when he was offered to be a team member on their prostaff. He was also very impressed with the quality and affordability of these products and also the desire of the owner to be one of leads of manufacturing in North America.
Jay was instrumental in starting one of the biggest and sustained private Bass clubs in Ontario “The Durham Downtown Bass Club” .

He was also very impressed with the quality and affordability of these products and also the desire of the owner to be one of leads of manufacturing in North America.

In 2010, Jay cultured two major wins one on Bay of Quinte Series including the opener with largemouth and on the Tri-Lakes in the Top Bass Series. In these series he was runner up team of the year and facilitated with angler of the year. In 2009 won the Quinte Series Classic and backed up another Classic title the year before in the 2008 Top Bass Series. Jay is a mentor to many young angler's and is always willing to share his passion and fishing experiences with anyone that wants to learn, this was what inspired him to start The Durham Downtown Bass Club.
