I MISS WINTER!!!
simcoe ON
Feb. 15, 2012 5:18pm

Yesterday my brother and I headed out on simcoe from port bolster, The last time we were out from this location we walked about half a click and found a consistant layer of around 5 inches of ice. yesterday we almost barried the auger trying to make a hole. Its unreal to think that the other side of the lake is open. we managed to get a few good perch but moving around was becoming a problem after the third or fourth time drilling. a power auger would have been nice out there for sure! i wish we could run around on the main lake, its hard to swallow that with all the ice out from bolster there is still not enough out in the basin. I wish for a week of -20. We are still waxen the steelhead however after 5 months of waxen em, im in need of a change, we have got out a few times and done fairly well for the lakers not only on simcoe but up in halibuton as well. Nothing is the same as not seeing the shore cause your so far out, and smashing the schools. I miss Winter....

See ya all at the show this upcomming weekend.
