IMPORTANCE OF EYEWEAR
ONT ON
Jan. 31, 2012 3:48pm

this is a very important topic to me.
eye protection.
those who know me understand why and for those that dont i only have one eye.
unlike most of u i only get one chance when it comes to this.
i dont got a second like most.
and why take any risks at all.
it can happen so fast and unexpected .
just for eye protection alone from bugs while driving and flying hooks .
anyone that has ever fished with me can account for bein hit by one of my baits by a missed hookset lol
uv and water reflection also damages the eye. we spent alot of days and hours out there.
then polarized. cuts the glare which helps u see structure and fish just that bit better.
your eyes are not replacable.
dont take any risks with them.

just wanna add i personally will always have a epi-pen on my boat.
im personally not allergic to anything but seen a guy stung 2yrs ago at work and he came pretty close to dyin right infront of me. take u way long to get to shore and get ambulance. i have one in my car glove box at all times now cause of this.
ya never know when ya have someone on board what might happen.
a good day fishin and a little sting can turn into a nightmare real quick.
just an idea for some.

Good advice, Scott. I learned that lesson very early in my fishing
career, when I had a bait shatter my glasses on a missed hook set
while fishing Scugog. Luckily it didn't injure my eye.
Good thoughts on the Epipen. We have them at work (treatment centre
for youth) but never thought about them in the boat or car. Food for
thought..

Good Fishing,
Justin

great Advice Scott!! I was fortunate to be wearing sunglasses when I
was guiding in the NWT. I took a 3 oz bullet jig right in the lense
one day when my guest tried to lift his laketrout into the boat when I
was reaching for it! It dropped me to the ground instantly. Broke my
lense and man did I feel lucky that day I still had my eye! 40 miles
from the lodge and my guests had no idea where we were. Would have
been a very bad situation. Again all prevented by my glasses!

I hope others take this report serioulsy!
