Painting crankbaits
Jan. 18, 2012 7:39pm

One thing I really enjoy doing is painting crankbaits. About 6 months back my good friend Paul Shibata gave me an air brush he purchased but only used a few times. At Christmas I went and got myself a small compressor, and have been painting crankbaits when ever I can a get chance to sit down for art and crafts that catch bass time.

It's fairly cheap to do, however the painting part can be a bit tricky, thats why they say to paint on card board to get used to the brush. I didn't and just went right into painting, and after painting a few simplistic type patterns I decided to see what else I could do. After some colour mashing through anything I could find for stencil use I came up with this which is my favorite so far. I also pour a soft plastics and I'm sure many of you do as well, but this in my opinion is 100 times more enjoyable.

The feeling you get when you catch fish on something you put your time and effort into making, makes the hours spent dabbling more then worth it.....

God speed.

Almost like tying your own flies for trout. I cant wait to see some
pics of the bass you get this summer on your own baits.

Good work!
