Be Prepared (A Sneak Peak)
ON
Dec. 31, 2011 9:39pm

An accomplished steelheader will tinker with weights/set ups until they get the drift just right! Other anglers will enhance their success by matching their presentations to the daily conditions and what the fish want that day. I've given you a sneak peak inside my bass jig/tubehead box along with my dropshot weights. You will notice a variety of sizes to allow me to tinker with presentations until I figure out what is best for that day.
An added tip, you can have the best presentation in the world but unless you are good at locating fish, you will still limit your chances to consistenly catch fish like the pros. Remember that 90% of the fish are located in 10% of the water AND 10% of the anglers catch 90% of the fish. In simpler words, anglers that can locate fish and follow seasonal patterns will consistenly produce results that others will envy.
Once you've got the right weight and zeroed in on the location of your target species, match the set up with proven producers such as Berkley Gulp or PowerBaits and you will have zoned in to that magic combination that will make memories to look back on for years to come.
