alright so last weekend i was all over the place! it started off by fishing a temiskaming smallmouth bass tournament on lake nosbonsing and then off to midland to fish georgian bay waters for the canadian collegiate bass championship
So to start with lake Nosbonsing: we've had some fairly good days on this body of water but the bad days have been far more numerous. we did manage to get some fish but couldnt seem to get no size whatsoever for the biggest part of the day although around noon we ended up on a new spot and we were on some big fish, but as i said before the bad days are far more numerous, we hooked up on some 4lbs+ fish but never could seem to land any of the big ones and made for a very small weight at the end of the day. although some of the teams there really won against the lake by having a few near 20 lbs bags we had clearly done something wrong but hey! i guess you cant win them all!
Then right after nosbonsing i was off to midland for the next day of fishing on gbay.
so our morning started off fairly good, I had been paired up with mike clark for me being a non boater in this event,we had a few big smallmouths follow up for some ways but didn't seem to want to commit to the bite, but things can change quick... as around 10 the trolling motor let go,as we were fishing for some largemouths, so it made for a while of trying to figure things out as we ended up doing some drift passes out in weeds and such trying to figure out what to do to fix this ....as it took a while Mike managed to fix the problem and we were back to it flipping docks and such but it was already 11:30-12 o'clock so we had a bit of catching up to do as we didnt have a fish in the livewell yet but we started catching fish as soon as we could manage to get around these dock areas as we finnally had a working trolling motor lol we ended up getting quite a few fish but nothing really spectacular to win as the day ended we still had a good day fishing and it made for an interesting weekend out on the water !
my next event will be bay of quinte for the Cbaf joint event next weekend hope to see you all there! |
