Had to pack up in record time tonight and high tail it off the lake, sky went black and lightning, home safe now and ended up 10 for 15, boated 3 in the high twenties, lost 3 more screamers....and a rod and reel...that part sucked but the fishing was great! Brilliant night (o:
On a sour note, I had a big fish hit, screamed off and the rod holder snapped clean off my rigger, $250 rod and reel are gone... brutal!!! Walker Downriggers really need to look into redesigning their rod holder plates. I've been nervous about this happening for sometime The design of the plate that holds the rod holders is very flimsy and anyone who owns them will tell you that they bend a fair bit under pressure, especially when running meat on heavy rods.
FYI: All my fish hit the meat on the riggers.
Note the fish pictures I have posted, these fish are turning already!

I was fishing Pickering Steve. I have a feeling by the lok of some of
these fish it won't be too long before they take a run at the creeks
and rivers. The unfortunate part is that when they do the majority of
the fish will be heading south back to the states... and then it's all
over but the crying lol!
Cheers,
Shaun
