Tip of the day 17/12/11

Deep weed edges provide great habitat for many different species of fish to live in, and there are many different techniques that work to catch them. One of the techniques that I have discovered while bass fishing this summer was slowly retrieving a Carolina Rigged minnow bait through the patch. I was using this while my dad was using a slow sinking soft plastic and it seemed to be getting caught in the upper parts of the weeds while the Carolina rig aloud the bait to be brought deeper into the weeds where more fish were holding. A drop-shot rig would work as-well to get your bait down into the weeds.
