Day two of the CANADIAN OPEN is in the books and I am fed and watered courtesy of the folks at LUND BOATS...Thanks to Jeff & Rory!!
WeightS were down a wee bit across the board but the crowd was really up which always makes for a lot more fun.
Young Cory Johnston brought in an amazing 26lb bag of giant smallmouth and they were practically clones, pretty well all 5lb fish with one tank at 5.65!!!!
Several anglers moved closer to the top with fairly consistent catches on day two which saw the wind blow pretty good but the outlook for tomorrow...Saturday, is for sun and great conditions to do whatever they need to do for the big bites.
Here is a brief rundown on the leaders after day two...this weight is for 10 fish alive.
Cory Johnston 46.00
Derek Strub 44.4
Chris Johnston 43.9
Charles Sim 42.75
John Whyte 42.6
John MacDonald 42.2
Bob Izumi 41.7
Jamie Janzen 40.5
There is also a handful of other anglers that are somewhat in contention should anyone falter and they have a big day.
The final weigh in will take place in Confederation Park Saturday afternoon at 3PM sharp and we hope to see you all there as they crown the CANADIAN OPEN CHAMPION...which will benefit the Kingston Military resource Center and the great men and women of our Military...
The park is right down town on the waterfront and has everything you need including easy access to a piece of Canadian History...be there!!!
