If you are looking for something to do over this holiday long weekend, consider making your way down to Plattsburgh New York to take in the action at the FLW Tour event. Plattsburgh is only a little over an hour's drive from Montreal and a little over an hour and a half from Cornwall Ontario. You can watch the pros and co-anglers take off Saturday and Sunday morning at 6:30 from the Dock Steet Landing then attend the FLW Expo at the Plattsburgh State Field House on Rugar St. from 12-4 pm followed by the weigh-in which will occur on site over those two days. The FLW Expo will have Interactive games, giveaways, a Walmart Kid's Zone and pros on site. I will be attending with my family and it should be a great time.

The current leader on the pro side is David Dudley who weighed in 24 pounds on Thursday.

If ever you get the chance to get out and fish on this legendary lake, one technique that works great is drop shotting for smallmouth on the lake's various humps. I had the occasion to fish for them there a couple of years back. I suggest using a size 1 drop shot hook tied to 8 pound test Berkley 100% Fluorocarbon line.
