As you have probably already heard, there is lots of chatter on the numerous fishing boards about the phenomenal lake trout fishing that is occurring ...
I spent this past weekend fishing the Canada/US walleye tournament on sturgeon lake in Bobcaygeon. The prefishing was tough as most of the patterns I used to run on this body of water were just not in play for this tournamnet. On the last day of practice we started to get on a scattered weedflat pattern in 9-12 feet of water. Black bucktails in 1/4 and 3/8 oz caught the majority of our fish weighed in. Although we didn't win this one, we finished in 12th place which covered part of our expenses and gave us some great experience to make another run at the title next year. Congrats to all the top finishers and Dan and partner on their win. The chamber of commerce, sponsors and all the volunteers did an awesome job and I look forward to fishing this event for many years in the future.
