8th Annual "Catch a Dream!" Kids Fishing Derby
Lake Simcoe ON
Jun. 7, 2012 7:46am

The summer of 2012 will be upon us shortly and with it, will come the arrival
of the 8th annual “Catch a Dream!” Kids Fishing Derby!
This year event will take place at Sibbald’s Point Provincial Park on Lake Simcoe.
This immensely popular event is spreading it’s wings and although we will still
be involving several “Big Brothers Big Sisters” agencies, the door has been
opened to “Make a Wish Foundation”, Camp CrossRoads and many other
children’s organizations in Ontario.
Mark the date on your calendar this year - Sat., June 16th, 2012 the “Catch a Dream!”
Kids Fishing Derby has grown to be one of the largest events of its kind in Canada.
This year’s event will involve up to 80 boats, 80 anglers, 160 guardians & children
and 40 volunteers. After being matched up with their pro-angler, the teams will hit
the water for four gorgeous hours of fishing on Lake Simcoe.
The boats will be launched at 7:00 am and return to shore at 12:00 noon, and
finished at 3:00 pm.
All the children will have an opportunity to go on stage and weigh-in a fish just like
the “Pros” do! After this, the excitement continues with some great BBQ lunch and
phenomenal prizes for everyone!
The “Catch a Dream!” is definitely a day that will fondly remain in the memory of
everyone who’s involved. This is an event that introduces fishing and boating to many
children who otherwise may not have a chance to do so! This day is made possible
by a host of sponsors, all the boaters, volunteers and the tireless organizers.
Any companies, parties or media who would wish to be part of this memorable day
please contact us to help ... Share the Magic!

As with every year we are currently in need of sponsors, boaters and volunteers please contact me if you are able to help out in any way. You can make a difference!
