Pickwick Lake Prefish
Pickwick Lake AL
May. 22, 2012 10:39pm

We have just completed our second day of prefish on Pickwick Lake for the Boat US Collegiate Championship. The TVA hasn't been pulling much water so the lack of current and slick conditions have made for long periods without a bite. Tonight's Yamaha night featured Ish Monroe and Tak Omori with a Q&A and the latest Ranger/Yamaha SHO rigs were available for demo rides. 200 teams are set compete starting Thursday. McFarland Park is an awesome venue to cater to such large numbers.

This has been my first opportunity to test the Shimano Crucial 7'11M crank rod - couldn't be happier with the casting distance and forgiveness for trebles this rod provides. Sidescanning humps and ledges have been essential and deep cranks, football jigs and shakey heads have produced in numerous areas.

Hopefully we can find some new water tomorrow and enjoy the banquet tomorrow evening.
