Tournament season
May. 8, 2012 2:26pm

Over the past weekend, tournament season began. Up north we have a circuit called Top 50 Pike Series and it held it's first 2 tournaments of the season. Both tournaments were on Georgian Bay but out of different locations. Saturday was out of Parry Sound and Sunday out of Honey Harbor. It was two tough days of fishing! Saturday was incredibly cold and the fishing was super slow although, it was one of my best days on the water. I somehow managed to reel in my biggest pike to date! 38".... I must've been the happiest girl in the world at that point, it made the rest of the crappy stuff of the day seem not so bad! We ended up in 15th place that day... Tournament #2 was even worse. I didn't have any Tim Hortons, energy drink OR lunch... It was cold and windy, I was tired and sore so in other words, I did NOT want to be there! At around 1 o'clock though, it all changed. We found one little weed bed and started catching them like crazy, within half an hour we had caught 8 pike and nothing smaller than 26". We ended up in 8th on that day. It was a long weekend with lack of sleep and sore sore arms from fishing but well worth it! Next weekend is Balsam lake and I hope to see some of you out there :)
