Great Turnout for Walleye Seminar
Moonbeam ON
May. 8, 2012 9:41am
On Sunday May 6th, the Remi Lake Cottage Owners Association in Moonbeam Ontario, held a Walleye Seminar featuring myself and Luc Audet from Team Canada 2012 and the NOWT. The turnout was exceptional for such a quickly put together event. Over 50 local anglers of all ages took part in the 2 1/2 hr seminar. We discussed what to look for when going out o a body of water. How to do a pre-scout of the area including maps and local buisnesses for info. We discussed how to break down un-productive water and using your sonar to its maximum. Other topics included using bottom bouncers and planner boards. Crank baits and spinners and the use of todays scented plastics over live bait. At the end of th seminar Luc and I were swarmd by the crowd to have a look at our set-ups, tackle and equipment. We showed many of the people how to tie snelled rigs for making their own walleye harnesses and how to tie braided line properly. Overall it was a great success. It was very well received and we were thanked for doing such a event. I look forward to doing it again next year.
