Jumbo perch on Bento Baits
Lake Simcoe ON
Apr. 11, 2012 10:23pm

Went out to Simcoe with a buddy of mine, looking for some JUMBO PERCH, went out of Innisfil park, headed straight across to fox island, fished right around it, looking for some decent ones, but all we were getting was dinks and the odd bigger one 9'' to 10''. We weren't satisfied with them, as we knew there were some bigger ones around. Knowing that they are just about to spawn, we knew the big females would be looking for the warmer water, so thats what we looked for. We had been in water that was in the late 30s F, after a bit of searching we found water in the early 40s F , and there they were, it didn't take long for them to start hitting the Dace Bento Baits on a dropshot rig, it was fast and furious from that point on. We ended up with over 60 to 70 fish boated, and kept about 40 for us to have ourselves a fish fry.
