A Job for One!
ON
Apr. 2, 2012 3:48pm

If you’re like me you like to keep your boat covered most of the time and one of the jobs that seem to be a hassle is removing your boat cover by yourself especially if your cover is a heavy travel cover like the one on my Ranger. For those special occasions when you have help, you ask your partner to go to the other side of the boat and you role it back together in some sort of early morning ballet with a small bit of dodge the flying straps when you reach the nose of the boat as you do one last fold to attempt to make it compact enough to fit in the carrying bag or stuff it in the back of your vehicle. Well I wanted to show you a better way that I have been using for many years.
I have found a way that I can remove my boat cover on my own and not have to step in the boat to do it.
Figure 1, this is the shot on my boat from over the motor with the straps undone.
Figure 2, I start by passing over the driver’s side of the cover and into the middle of the boat between the consoles.
Figure 3, I then passes the passenger’s side of the cover as well into the middle of the boat between the consoles, and then pulls the cover from the nose of the cover forward by about 2 feet.
Figure 4, I then pull the cover towards me rolling it over on its self folding it tightly.
Figure 5, I continue to pull the cover folding it.
Figure 6, the cover is completely folded tightly and ready to be put into the travel cover or into the back of my vehicle.
The cover will easily go back on the same way, just place the cover at the front of the boat and roll it back and unfold.

Hope this helps.

Peace Out!

Dan
