A Morning Chasing Steelhead
Lake Ontario Trib ON
Mar. 22, 2012 8:27pm

Just wanted to give everyone an update on the current steelhead fishing. I spent the morning at one of the lake ontario tribs and the water was starting to get back to a more manageable level and to my surprise, the water was clearer than I had anticipated. The clearer water along with the unseasonably warm temperatures made the fishing a little tougher than normal. No big fish today however, landed a beauty brown which complimented the steelhead we did land nicely. Roe was by far the most effective and all fish were landed on the 13ft shimano clarus rod paired with a sustain 2500.
