Lake Ontario Magic
Ran out to the lake today in search for some smallmouth and I was rewarded with an amazing day. Winds were only 3 MPH which made an Ontario run like sweet heaven. I was lucky enough to have my wife along for the trip and she did a great job snapping photos and running the GoPro in between sun tanning on the back deck. I do believe I caught somewhere around 50 smallmouth today ranging in a variety of sizes from 2 lbs - 6 lbs. The smallmouth were all in groups. When you caught one there would be 4-5 with her.
The smallies were in 4-15 ft of water and I concentrated on the edges of rocks ledges. I caught fish on all types of baits today including horizontal and vertical presentations. The successful baits were dropshotting an Xzone Slammer in green pumpkin, dropshotting a jackall crosstail shad, and also rattletraps by Koppers & Bill Lewis.
