A welcomed change, just in time.

As the Florida summer winds down and the autum rains start blowing in, I take a deep breath and then a sigh of relief. Relief from the scorching heat and near boiling water temperatures. This summer has been, in my opinion, one of the worst. But we are starting to feel the seasonal change, both in the air and on our lines. And did I mention, the water levels are coming back, even if only temporarily. We have a major bottling company just north of one of my favorite fisheries. They currently pump 3 million gallons a week, and are requesting a permit to increase production.More on the adverse effects of this later. This coming weekend will probably be the most hectic of my year. My beautiful wife, Megan turns 29 on Friday the 26th, our 1 year anniversary is on Sunday the 28th and right in the middle falls the most important tournament, at least to me, of the 2014 BassAttack season. This tournament is being hosted on my home lake and that added pressure makes it that much more important, knowing the subtle nuances of this particular chain, where to be, when to be there and what to throw. Do I throw a blue and green craw pattern jig or a green and gold. Is the topwater action going to start in the morning in the shallows, or will they be schooling baitfish in the open. Will the forcasted rains set in and cause the bite to slow, or maybe just a light drizzle and allow for the Hopps Tackle BuzzFrog to work its magic. The gameplan has been made, actually several have been made, based upon the weather and the other anglers morning runs. A good pattern has been established and will be put to the test. I know several anglers who will be participating, that follow me on NPS and to them, good luck, run the shallow canal fast and be safe. I will update everyone on the results, probably Monday or Tuesday. Until then, tight lines everybody.
