The BassAttack trail, battle on the Harris Chain.

It was the third event of the BassAttack tournament trail. The arena, the Harris Chain, home to 2014 Oakley BigBass Tour season opener. This lake is merciless and does not give up it's spoils easily. But, when it does, the bags have the potential to be staggering. The day was not so good for us, we did get our limit, but never had the opportunity to land a 6th, giving us a chance to possibly cull our smallest. The water temps were 89 at 5:30am, and hazy. We had three weeks of afternoon thunderstorms which left us in a churned up system. We also had a record high of 101 with a heat index of 109. We had 4 in the boat by 8am and thought that our prefishing and established a pattern for us and was paying off. We were wrong. The bite stopped right after number 4 was put in the boat. We found ourselves struggling to get a bite, and changing up what we presented and how. We made a move based on the time and what prefishing had shown before, but it was not to be this time. We found ourselves with number 5 just before noon and could not seem to catch a break. This is exactly how and why the Harris Chain is. We weighed in a mere 5.38lbs and found ourselves finishing in 18th out of 31 teams. I want to congratulate fellow NPS angler Ronnie Davidson and his partner David Kerce for their great effort and getting 3rd with a limit of 13.8 lbs. Ronnie, I hope you don't mind me putting your picture up here. I apologize for not mentioning all the other teams and their totals. I will try to do better next time.
