Hi,

Stable weather and water getting clearer were good conditions for a couple of hours fishing walleye. I got out with my brother Denys and my son Adam (5 years old).

We had good winds so we started trolling crankbaits. Good decision! We caught 11 walleyes and 4 smallmouth bass. Guess who was the best fisherman today? Adam! He caught (alone) a 5 pounds walleye, his first fish ever. It was funny to see him fighting the fish! He was very happy when Uncle Denys finally put his fish in the net. It’s also him who caught the most fish…! I also managed to catch a nice one (4 pounds).

Among the crankbaits we tried, the Flicker Shad #7 was clearly the best. Best color was «Hollywood», a color exclusive to Bass Pro Shop.

Adam fished with a Lighting Rod Shock 5’6 MH. It’s a perfect rod for a kid. It’s short and easy to use. It’s strong enough to allow a good hook set even with for a kid. It’s sold only 40$ so if it fall in the river, we can survive (!) to it!

I love this sport!
